Disabled people across Canada are imagining futures where collective access, interdependence, solidarity, care, and justice shape every part of society. Through art, activism, media, scholarship, and more, disabled people are challenging ableism and intersecting forms of oppression, building community, and transforming the conditions of our everyday lives.

Led by Kelly Fritsch and Fady Shanouda, the Disability Justice and Collective Change in Canada Project traces and amplifies these collective efforts—documenting the unfolding knowledge, culture, and practices of disability movements for social change. By sharing the creative practices of these movements, we seek to strengthen collective struggles for liberation, deepen public understanding, and celebrate the brilliance of disability movements and communities shaping new worlds.

Our full website, including an audio documentary podcast, project publications and infographics, and resources offering pathways into these ongoing movements and the worlds they’re creating, to launch in February 2026.
